Connect your AI to Skape
Connect Claude or ChatGPT to Skape, and you can work on your team's projects from a chat. Your AI reaches Skape through our MCP server, and it can only do what you allow.
What you can do
- Understand a project. Ask your AI to explain how a project works: what plays where, and what makes it start.
- Plan an idea. Talk through a walk, a tour or an installation before you build it.
- Build with your team's audio. With Read & build access, it can create and change projects using the audio your team has already uploaded.
- See the map and screens. It can show you the project's map and previews of its screens, right in the chat.
- Draw on the map. With Read & build access, you can draw and name areas on the map in the chat, and your AI adds them to the project.
What you need
- A Skape account and a team. Accounts are by request for now. Tell us a little about your project, and we'll set you up.
- Claude. Free accounts can add one custom connector. In a Team or Enterprise workspace, an administrator may need to add Skape first.
- ChatGPT. Your account or workspace may restrict custom plugins. Setup starts on the web.
The server URL
Skape's server URL is https://skap.es/mcp. You'll also find it on your team's MCP / AI page in the dashboard, with a button that copies it.
Connect Claude
- Open Customize, then Connectors in Claude on the web or desktop. Select + Add, then Add custom connector, or Custom and Web if those options are shown.
- Name it Skape, paste the server URL, and select Continue.
- Choose Sign in now and Use Claude's published identity.
- Add the connector and connect it. Sign in to Skape when prompted and choose your team and access.
- In a chat, open the + menu, enable Skape under Connectors, and ask it something.
See also Claude's own setup guide.
Connect ChatGPT
- Open Plugins in ChatGPT on the web. Select the plus button, then Add custom MCP server.
- Name it Skape and paste the server URL.
- Choose OAuth and Client ID Metadata Document (CIMD) when asked how to connect.
- Review ChatGPT's warning, select Create as a plugin, and install it. Sign in to Skape when prompted and choose your team and access.
- Start a new chat, type @ to select Skape, and ask it something.

Choose what it can do
When you sign in to Skape from your AI app, you decide what it can do and which teams it can use.
- Read is the default. Your AI can look at projects, audio and maps, and explain how things work.
- Read & build also lets it create, change and delete projects and their content.
- Teams. You choose which of your teams it can use. New teams aren't added automatically.
It never gets more than your own role in a team allows. You can change this later: reduce its access, change its teams or disconnect it on your team's MCP / AI page. To let it build later, choose Read & build when your AI asks for more access, or connect Skape again in your AI app.
Then just ask
Start a new chat with Skape enabled and ask, with your own team's name:
What can you do in the Skape team "Your team"?
Your AI tells you what it can do there. The question doesn't change anything, and if your AI can't see the team, it says so. The MCP / AI page shows the same question with your team's name, ready to copy.
Disconnecting
In the dashboard, open your team's MCP / AI page, choose Manage on the connection, then Disconnect AI. It loses access to every team on that connection at once. You can connect it again from your AI app.
Removing Skape in Claude or ChatGPT stops that app from using it. To end its access in Skape too, disconnect it there.
Privacy
Your AI receives what it reads through Skape, and its provider handles that under your agreement with them. Skape logs each request your AI makes, and you can see the log on your team's MCP / AI page. Read more in the AI section of our privacy policy.
If something doesn't work
- Your AI can't see Skape's tools. Check that Skape is enabled in the chat and that signing in to Skape finished.
- Skape says you need a team. Join or create a team in Skape, then start again from your AI app.
- You use another AI app. It needs to support remote MCP servers with sign-in. Setup varies, and we haven't checked every app, so look in your AI app's documentation.
- Still stuck? Write to hello@skap.es. A person replies within two business days.
How your AI learns Skape
Skape offers your AI one document that explains how Skape works: blueprints, nodes, features and screens, and how to work through Skape's tools. Some AI apps read it on their own, and Skape's tools describe themselves, so your AI can work without it. If your AI seems unsure about Skape, paste skap.es/mcp/skill.md into the chat or install it as a skill. You can read it too.
